I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas... Just for a little while, doesn"t Christmas suspend time? Like a bit of a cocoon or a warm blanket, we get to forget about the outside and concentrate on inside. And all of this because of a newborn. A gift to us all. a conservative is ...

Me. I am that dreaded conservative. Let me address cultural issues first. I am for life, as in PRO. I am not for gay marriage. I am pro private ownership of guns. I support the death penalty. I am pro school vouchers. Each of the above topics deserve more than a mere sentence in their explanation. I do not intend to do that in this post. In future posts, I hope to explain my position on each of these subjects and how I arrived at such. For today, I wish to speak of money. You know, moola,cash,dough...the economy. "It all comes down to the economy." I only have a degree in Sociology. I am not an economist by trade. But like most Americans, I have a job. And guess what? Money is power. Money allows you to do things. Money can be put to good use and benefit the user. Money can do bad things too. Money can cause harm. Money in and of itself is neutral. I like the money that I earn and want to keep ALL of it. However, I realize that in our country taxes are a necessary evil. We need highways and bridges and fire departments and police departments and the military. These are truly necessary and not evil. What we don't need on the payroll are career politicians and most of the government employees that we have. We do not need government intervention when a part of our industry collapses. We need the FREE market. The FREE market WILL correct itself. I do not want to depend on a career politician for my health care. Unless of course, I will be receiving the exact same type of coverage as said politician! I am for a fiscally limited government. Don't give them too much money. That will give them too much power. I'd like to keep the power that I earn in my wallet where it belongs.

Obsessed

I am obsessed with my country. Its freedom, opportunity, beauty, culture, warts and all...the good, the bad and the ugly. I pray that we can preserve it. I pray that we don't screw it up.

I voted today. It is now 9:30 P.M. and the news is on. It's not good news unless by some miracle things turn around in the next few hours. We made it through Carter and Clinton so I hope we have the stamina to make it through again. May God have mercy on us.

• why isn't anyone talking about "TERM LIMITS''??? why do we elect the same people over and over again and again??? let's get some new blood in there for four,six or eight years and give them a chance to steal all that they can and then go home! why not? we all deserve a piece of the government pie.

Why in the world did you accept a job like ours, knowing that it would wreak havoc on your spine? and that other one! every other week either she or a family member is in the "emergency room". how unhealthy can one family be? and now for the last person on my list. I love the summer! Kids out of school two weeks already and it is busy. Days go by so fast...don't want them to grow up but can't wait until they go to bed at night!!! Thank you dear Lord for my family. Please let Your will be in my home.

Please Explain...

Why was it, that when George Bush was elected President in 2000, Democrats cried foul? George did not win the popular vote but did manage to win the office by garnering more of the votes of the electoral college. Now Hillary has done the same thing and her party is ready to dump her. I could not care less which Democrat gets the nomination of their party. They are both socialists to me. But, could someone please explain to me why Democrats continually change their tune?

Liberal nutjob

I've been reading a blog lately written by a liberal. Holy smokes is this woman off of the charts! Her blog today lashed out at the President for attending a Memorial Day service. According to her, she perceived him to have a smirk on his lips. She accused him of worshipping a god who does not recognize her "love" because she is homosexual. Isn't this a bit melodramatic? Do liberals possess the ability to think clearly, if at all? Can they even begin to offer an argument based on logic and not emotion? If this ever occurs, will someone please call me and let me know. Marriage

A banner day for marriage in California! NOT!!! To all gay people out there who think that straight people hate them...FALSE. However, marriage is between a man and a woman. You do have the right to marry so stop saying that you don't. If you choose not to marry a person of the opposite sex, well, okey-dokey. Stop hijacking the sacred institution. Brings me to another point...same sex couples and IVF. No matter how you slice it,dice it or approach the issue, someone outside of your twosome lent a hand, so to speak. It's the big,fat elephant in the room. I do not dislike gay people. Can we simply call a spade a spade and stop pretending?

Blowin' off steam

Feel like ranting a bit today. Not in the mood for correct punctuation either. How about Obama's comment on religion, guns and Pennsylvania bitterness. I'm from Pa. and the only thing that I'm bitter about is taxes.. too many,too much and a big fat drain on the paycheck... how about term limits for all politicians??? how about LESS government??? how about Hillary trying to tell the truth once in awhile??? I'm almost ready to become a Libertarian...

Boring February

So Average

I consider myself to be an average American. I'm married with children. I am employed. My husband is employed. We have two dogs,own our own home,go on yearly vacations, blah blah blah... This primary race thing is killing me. So much info out there on ALL of the candidates ... I know about you but let me tell you about ME! I want less or should I say LESS government. I do not believe that government is the answer. I believe that government is the problem. Can any one of you promise me LESS government?
